Sustainability
At Bags For Biodiversity we believe that our bags should be beautiful but not at the expense of our planet. We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance the sustainability of our products and operations. By choosing our bags you are not only acquiring something beautiful, but also supporting a more sustainable approach to fashion.
We also believe in reducing waste and extending the life of the materials that we use. Here's how we make our products and processes as sustainable as possible
We buy our fabric locally to reduce carbon emissions and where possible we use recycled material or upcycled garments, or soft furnishings . Much of our fabric is roll ends and remnants that might otherwise be wasted.
To minimize waste, we often repurpose zips, buttons, and metalwork from charity shop finds, or previously loved items. By giving new life to these components, we extend their usability and reduce the need for new resources.
Eco friendly Packaging: Dont be surprised if your bag is posted in a previously used padded envelope or cardboard box, with a scrap paper address label. There's something very satisfying about re-using jiffy bags from friends and family and local businesses.
Our tissue paper wrapping is acid free , uses water based dyes and is fully compstable and our new waterproof postage envelopes are made from a by-product of sugarcane, grown on reclaimed wasteland and are also compostable.
Thank you for being a part of our journey towards a more sustainable future. If you have any questions or suggestions or would like to learn more about our sustainability efforts, please don't hesitate to contact me at ghislaine.sayers@hotmail.co.uk. Together, we can make a significant difference in reducing waste and promoting responsible consumption.
